Mr R: Well, I hope half the class or more can go & donate blood tomorrow. Whose going? Can I see a show of hands? [ counts hands raised ] O.. kay. That's good. See how lah. Maybe might treat you guys pizza (Blood for Pizza? That not true altruism. Ah well. Better than donating to a charity in the hopes of winning a condo or a new car.)
Me: Mr R, you still can't go for blood donations right? Mr R: Yah.. What to do? They don't allow me because I stayed in the UK during the period which they stated- Me: This got something to do with the Mad Cow Disease scare at the time? Mr R: That's right. Me: The blood bank people don't need to worry about anything what. So many years already. I mean, we were your students for the last 3 years. If you have any signs of madness, it would have already been very obvious to us. [ sniggers break out among classmates ] Mental note to self: 1. Stop being such an evil, underhanded, cunning basketcase. 2. If objective 1. proves to be too difficult, at least try to improve your acting ability & not smile when you are not supposed to. 3. When you know your classmates are going to laugh, do not look at them lah! Its contagious. [ Playing with the lion's teeth when head is already firmly placed between the jaws. ] |
