Friend: Eh, sup.
Me: Yo. Friend: What you doing sitting in the middle of the basketball court? The sun not hot meh? Me: I'm looking at the wall. Friend: Wall? What- Oh. You mean the rock climbing wall. Why? Me: I never seen anyone in school climb it before. Friend: Eh? Quite true ah? It looks interesting.. Me: Wanna try? Friend: Nah. Me: Why not? Friend: No one else tried it before what. I feel shy to be the first one. Me: What if everyone climbs on the wall? Would you try it then? Friend: Nah. Me: WHY NOT! Friend: They will be more experienced what. Eh, you & me, we are Year 1 newcomers. Maybe they have some long tradition regarding the wall that we don't know. Me: But what if everyone didn't want to try because they are afriad of what others might think? Does it matter whether you are amateurish or experienced? Friend: (OK loh.) Me: I mean.. Everyone has to start from somewhere right? I'm going to try climbing it tomorrow. You wanna join me? Friend: Nah. Me: Why not? Friend: Can't be bothered lah. Too lazy. |
