I had a good weekend so far! When we booked out on Friday night, (courtesy of a long weekend granted by our course commander) I joined a few of my course mates for dinner at Long John Silvers. It was enjoyable, and I don't mean just the food.. Jeremy, Jin Bao, Kelvin and me had a totally relaxed and casual time chatting, about life in and out of camp. You might think there's nothing special in that, but having been only in pressure cooker type of situations with them before this, it was almost strange to see them in this new out of No. 4 uniform perspective. You might say that we are too busy being colleagues and comrades that we hardly have time to develop friendships. After dinner I hopped on the MRT for a ride home, only for Boon to SMS me along the way. Don't get me wrong, I didn't feel annoyed at all. I ended up joining him and YY for a very last minute outing to listen to UBlues perform at Timbre Bistro Music Bar from 10:30pm till around 11pm+. Listening to live blues with friends, outdoor and under the stars, sipping a deliciously sweet glass of cabernet... In the words of my ma - "Wah, you really know how to enjoy arh?" Today I went down to Fort Canning for Sonicfest 2005. I only managed to catch Sonic Flood's performance cos' Jason (whom I was supposed to meet up with), was delayed by the late ending of his church service. I'm not complaining - Thanks to him I got to enter for free. Total Up of Expenses for Saturday 30th July 1 litre bottle of water to quench thirst & fight the heat - $1.70 Entry fee for Sonicfest 2005 Saturday session - $30 Having a friend whose involved as a crew and got you a free ticket - Priceless. And Sonic Flood's set was excellent. My legs are still slightly numb from jumping like a mad man 1 too many times during the gig. I look forward to going to AMK CC tomorrow to donate blood after church in the morning.. Been wanting to doing that for some time already. On a separate note altogether - Remains of the Day is very good, although I haven't been able to fully absorb most of the ideas & themes in the book on my first read through. I found the "Salisbury" chapter the most enjoyable, and I still can't make up my mind on my opinion on the Mr. Steven's character and his beliefs. I haven't gave away any spoilers yet. >:] |
