very brit fire extinguisher incident

Free passes rock.

Went down to Zouk for "VERY BRIT" an event 'celebrating all things and music Brit", but mainly a corporate effort promoting some upcoming UK albums. The event lasted from 9-11pm.. of which Great Spy Experiment & Electrico only play 4 songs each.. roughly 50 minutes of live music altogether out of roughly 2 hours. You can't really blame them - They were there to help prop the launch party and so were in a way the "side dishes".

Damn tasty dishes though. Servings of music were great, and despite cries for encore Carrie Chong pushed ahead with the capitalist agenda. OK lah, also cannot blame her.

The rest of the time we were ~~forced and subjected to~~ entertained with UK music videos. The clips were nice, yes, but the whole time I couldn't help but think to myself, "Wah thanks ah, the screen's very big I know. Very clear footage. But err, I have these things at home called 'cable TV' and 'broadband internet' so can skip this segment?"

The POPTART set afterwards was good as usual lah, but it will forever be remembered as the one with the fire extinguisher accident. What happened was this, wee.like.me was bouncing about in his usual hyper POPTART mode and was hamming it up to a good song. He pouted and fluttered his eyelids, then as a dramatic gesture against oppressive club security, he let loose the nearby fire extinguisher jettisoning gushes of harmless gas into the surprised crowd. Unplanned merriment. Bad news, the cannister's content was NOT carbon dioxide. Within seconds people started to cough and choke quite badly. Due to the size of the dance area, not everyone saw what happened.

Interesting theories overheard:

- Someone knocked the extinguisher off the DJ console and it EXPLODED!!! Poof.
- Someone REALLY overdid it with the smoke machine.
- "Die lah terrorist attack."
- In a desperate attempt to defend himself from the vicious clutches of the Agent Smith Zouk bouncers, wee.like.me blasted them with the extinguisher. No one died.

- The best one: "Wah.. I think someone brought in a big bag of heroin and bursted it by mistake."

Err, no, bimbo clubber girls. You swallowed chemicals from a released fire extinguisher, not free druggie samples. If you thought you got high that night, 2 words. Placebo effect.

Sucker love is heaven sent. Not.

What I feel about the incident is that, yes, although the fooling around did result in some serious consequences, but it was not done with that intention.. just as a improvised stunt for fun and laughs.. nobody wanted bad things to happen. For me, the incident's considered 'bygones' already. Tomorrow we rock on.
