I'm in school now. There's 45 mins till my Lit Paper II and I should be busy doing last minute cramming, but at this moment, I'm bored.
I noticed that the wound on my left thumb has almost healed completely. Odd. It was quite recently, just last Saturday, that I accidentally cut myself rather deep with my shaving razor. I read that our liver is so regenerative that "Only 20% of an adult's liver ... is needed to serve as a liver allograft for an infant or small child." (source: Wikipedia) Animals in the Corallimorphs species are also well-known for their superb regenerative properties. I guess in my case, my body is so used to me being such a wear-and-tear owner, especially in the hands and feet from frequent bouldering, that the quick regeneration rate serves as a coping mechanism of sorts. Crazy metabolism & an inability to reach 100% normal weight are the wages for being a demi-sub-superman. |
