When I was watching TV recently, (yes, pigs are flying outside my window) I saw this advertisement:"The thing about designing an SUV for seven people..."BULLSHIT ALERT. SUV = Sports Utility Vehicle = If you are making enough money to buy & maintain this vehicle in Singapore you are probably too busy working your ass off 24x7 to have any time for "Sports Utilitising", whatever that means. "for seven people" = Unless you have 3 or more kids (don't start with the "kids? what kids?" thing) or a really large extended family, the only thing you are going to do with that thing is to chauffeur your friends around.You can't be doing free-transport duty every other day. In other words, you are just being a snobbish, one-driver-in-a-oversized-car, fuel-guzzling pollutor. The advertisement's whole wholesome family + nature feel is also nonsense. I don't see what's so wholesome or natural about living in a future that's 5 or more celsius hotter than now. |
