The whole bunch of us children's church workers decided to go out for afternoon makan and chat. 15 minutes later and seated down around a creaky wooden table, I contributed my 2¢ worth to the discussion at hand and sipped on my ice-chilled bandung. One of them looked at me, distinctively startled. Many years ago she taught me as a sunday school teacher, watching me grow up. Now we are weekend colleagues. "But, I thought army was supposed to change you guys, make you all more responsible, transform you from boys to men and such."I put the drink aside and politely smiled. |
