To think that the venue is a girls' school. I almost couldn't get in due to all presale tickets being sold out. Thank God for not-so-small mercies. First of all, I missed Skyjuice and Crossbred. (Opps) West Grand Boulevard showed great showmanship and quick thinking when the fuse blew half-way through their set: a 15 minute impromptu drumming duets. Good crowd pleaser! The Suns (aka Boredphucks) make a jubilant return back to da Singapura after all these year alive, kicking and jtfu. They started off with one of their old BF songs - Zoe Tay, and all the good ol' memories come backagain. And later in their set, San Singer pumps the horns into the air and screams: This next song's dedicated to the SINGAPORE POLICE FORCE!!! Yes, the Suns rock. Levan: Thanks for coming tonight. We really appreciate that you're here and not at theI took a breather during Ronin's set to get some drinks and air, and when I got back, the band's high energy and antics got the crowd going- And half the members are topless. Aren't there underaged girls among the crowd?
Can you spell "T E A S E" ? ;) Then everyone just bursted out/up onto the stage - bands, organisers, audience, flustered security.. I haven't seen anything so crazy since Baybeats 2002. Crazy, but in a good way. Important lesson learnt for the night: Secondary school girl crowds do not make good crowd surfing supporters. Trust me. If I know who were the 3 RGS students who came up with organising this gig as a school project proposal, I would congratulate them. Good grades and a gig. Great stuff. Oh yeah, I made a gallery out of all the photos I took that night. Enjoy. |
