This thick smog suffocates, the faint wood ash smell everywhere. Retching suddenly, violent sputem expelled. Escaping from a crowded weekend bar to find the whole world's smoke-filled and dim. Breathless, an invisible confinement enclosing. I fear the rain nevertheless. Dreading the first drops, uncomfortable, insecure, uncertain. One hits my skyward eyes, involuntarily I twitch. The grey clouds overcast looming. I fear eventuality, the day where there be a downpour in my heart. Trickle to deluge, enveloping, purging, all-cleansing flowing liquid. Vulnerable I stand in this falling clashing sky and rain, the taste of water on my lips. Erode and wash away, let us start renew anew. In the aftershowers the skies are a clear traquil early morning blue. |
